SourceFeed is a searchable, continuously updated data set of tens of thousands of chats, millions of bad actors, and hundreds of terabytes of data, sourced from thousands of different platforms/websites affiliated with terrorism and violent extremism.

SourceFeed provides near-real-time access to messenger applications, social media venues, and websites as bad actors experiment with different platforms, e.g., Discord, GemSpace, Signal, SimpleX, Rocketchat, and Telegram. Data is stored in perpetuity, on SITE’s servers, and regularly used to support analysts and investigators.

SourceFeed’s unique value is that all data contained within has been human verified by SITE expert analysts, eliminating the need to sift through unrelated “noise” collected by vendors using web-scraping tools to disseminate large amounts of raw data, which includes and could lead to incomplete / inaccurate results.

SearchFeed

SearchFeed is a powerful Boolean search engine and investigative tool that enables users to rapidly search the SourceFeed database for specific posts, targets, locations, actors, and more without direct access to malicious forums. SearchFeed unlocks the ability for users to sort through SITE’s archived extremist chats using a text-based search function. In short, SearchFeed is SITE’s version of “Google for the online extremist ecosystem” – a truly innovative tool. Government customers regularly utilize SearchFeed to carry out extensive investigations into users and groups for identifying material and evidence of criminal activity.

SearchFeed Images is a cutting-edge reverse image search integrated with the SourceFeed database. This service enables users to upload images and find matches and near matches among the 40 million+ media files in our continually updated database.

Leadership

Rita Katz, the Executive Director and founder of the SITE Intelligence Group, has tracked and analyzed global terrorist networks for over two decades, and is well-recognized as one of the most knowledgeable and reliable experts in the field.

Ms. Katz has infiltrated terrorist fronts undercover, testified before Congress and in terrorism trials, and briefed officials at the White House and the Departments of Justice, Treasury, and Homeland Security. Her investigations and testimony have driven action by several governments against terror-linked organizations and individuals. She has provided counterterrorism training sessions to military leadership, intelligence analysts and law enforcement agents from numerous government agencies in the U.S. and abroad. She has led numerous workshops for non-governmental organizations and academic audiences, and supported policy makers and government institutions worldwide in their efforts to counter terrorism and prevent violent extremism.

For her unique contributions to FBI counterterrorism investigations, Ms. Katz received special recognition from FBI Director Robert Mueller for her “outstanding assistance to the FBI in connection with its investigative efforts.” Outlets to profile Ms. Katz have included the New Yorker and 60 Minutes, and her insights have been featured in scores of major publications, including Washington Post, Time, The Daily Beast, VICE, and others. Ms. Katz is the author of Saints and Soldiers: Inside Internet-Age Terrorism, From Syria to the Capitol Siege (Columbia University Press, 2022). She also authored Terrorist Hunter: The Extraordinary Story of a Woman who Went Undercover to Infiltrate the Radical Islamic Groups Operating in America (Harper Collins, 2003).
