In a statement posted to the internet today, January 18, 2005, by Abu Maysara al-Iraqi, official spokesperson of “Tanzeem Qaedat al-Jihad Fi Bilad al-Rafidayn” [the Base of the Jihad in the Country of Two Rivers – Iraq], headed by Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the group claims responsibility for a suicide operation against the al-Hakim Jamaa - Badr Corps1 in the al-Jadriyyah area. According to the statement, “these operations are in retaliation for yesterday’s attacks in Baaquba and Biji.”
