Shabaab Appoints New Leader After Death of Godane, Renews Pledge to Zawahiri

Leader of Shabaab Releases Audio in Support of Islamic State of Iraq

Mukhtar Abu Zubair, the leader of the Shabaab al-Mujahideen Movement in Somalia, issued a 12-minute audio message to jihadist forums on May 2, 2010, eulogizing the slain leaders of the Islamic State of Iraq (ISI), Abu Umar al-Baghdadi and Abu Hamza al-Muhajir.
