Abu Jandal al-Damashqi, the Emir of Tawhid Wal Jihad in al-Sham, in an audio speech titled, “Abu Hureira: The Present, but Absent”, eulogizes the second in command of Fatah al-Islam in Lebanon and claims that members of Fatah al-Islam have penetrated the lines of the Lebanese government and military.
Tawhid Wal Jihad Movement in al-Sham (the Levant region comprised of Lebanon, Syria, and Jordan) issued a statement to jihadist forums today, Monday, June 11, 2007, in regard to Fatah al-Islam Movement and the Lebanese army’s ongoing siege on its base of Nahr al-Bared Palestinian refugee camp in northern Lebanon.
A 45:31 minute audio speech by an individual calling himself Abu Jandal Damashqi, stating to be the leader of Tawhid Wal Jihad Movement in al-Sham (the Levant region comprised of Lebanon, Syria, and Jordan), and threatening Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, was recently distributed to jihadist forums, including the password-protected al-Firdaws Network.
