A Statement from the Muslims in British Prisons Signed by Abu Qatada Concerning Denmark

The Islamic Observation Centre, a British-based organization believed to have close links to Egyptian extremists and al-Qaeda, distributed a statement yesterday, January 31, 2006, from Muslims incarcerated in British prisons and signed by Abu Qatada, which condemns Denmark for “malicious drawings” of the Prophet Muhammad in a Danish publication and urge Muslim youth to defend Islam.  Described as “al-Qaeda’s ambassador to Europe,” Sheikh Abu Qatada is currently being held in Full Sutton prison near York.

The Mujahideen Army Issues a Statement Condemning Denmark and Norway for the Picture Representations of the Prophet Muhammad, and Instructs its Brigades to Target These Countries a

The Mujahideen Army in Iraq issued a statement yesterday, January 29, 2006, in which they posit their belief that the picture representations of the Prophet Muhammad are tantamount to hatred of Islam by Denmark and Norway, and this “insult which they dared to do in public” and excuse that it is freedom of through is a “very bad sign and a very shameful position built on a deep hatred and long-lasting dislike and insistence to make an enemy of Islam, its Messenger, and its great book.”

The Abu Hafs al-Masri Brigades issued a statement dated Saturday, July 16, 2005, announcing that this, their last written message, was a renewal of the ultimatum to the European countries that continue to maintain troops in Iraq that they have one month to “think carefully about your policies towards Islam and Muslims” and remove their soldiers from Iraq.

The Al-Rudd Brigades Issues Warning to the Governments of the European Countries, Stressing Holland, Denmark and Norway, to Remove Their “Mercenaries” from Northern Iraq Within Two

In a statement posted today, July 16, 2005, to a Zarqawi-affiliated website, a group calling itself al-Rudd (the Responders) Brigades of the Mountain, the Level land, and the Two Rivers, warns the “foreigners and the crusaders” of European to withdraw their organizations from Arbil, northern Iraq, within two weeks, or the mujahideen will “strike all the foreigners and the mercenaries.”

Abu Hafs al-Masri Brigades Communiqué: London Attacks Were the Start of a “Deadly War”

In a second statement posted to the Abu Hafs al-Masri Brigades’ website, abuhafs.50webs.com, yesterday, July 10, 2005, the group claims that the attacks perpetrated in London last Thursday are “but a start of a deadly war and a continuation of jihad” and includes Britain with the United States and Israel in “evil’s axles.”
