A message posted today, January 27, 2005, by “an efficient member” of a very popular Jihadist message board, states that the impending election day in Iraq (Sunday, January 30, 2005) “is going to be a day, different from all other past days.”
A message recently in circulation on Jihadist message boards asks “How can you become a member of al-Qaeda?” In answering the question the message explains that al-Qaeda by its very existence is an open invitation for Muslims to join the jihad:
“Today, al-Qaeda is no longer simply an organization that works on fighting the Jews and the Crusaders only, it has become an “invitation – Da’wa” that calls upon all Muslims to rise for the support of Allâh’s religion.... If you answer this call, you will be considered to belong to al-Qaeda whether you like it or not; and if you are a true believer, you have no other choice but to answer the call within the extent of the ability that Allâh has given to you.
On Thursday, January 13, 2005, members of a popular jihadist message board discussed the question “Why aren’t there attacks against the British Army?” The consensus of posters was that the lack of attacks is due to the fact that British forces occupy primarily Shiite areas in Iraq.
A message purportedly addressed by Jaish Ansar al-Sunnah and posted to a jihadist message board on Monday, January 03, 2005, warns non-Iraqis, seekers of the Jihad in Iraq, from responding to internet calls and encourages them to check with “local jihadist groups and trusted Sheikhs in their countries” before going to Iraq.
A member of a popular Jihadist message board recently posted a message to which he attached at least 29 files, mostly relating to explosives.
A recent posting to a popular Jihadist message board insisted that “Al-Qaeda must be founded in Palestine…. It is essential to liberate the entire land.”

One commentator concluded that “the American people approve and endorse this pig’s actions.” Another argued that either candidate would have made “the same difference, as they are all Blasphemers, and our Jihad will continue against the one or the other.”
Members of jihadist message boards expressed little sorrow in responding to reports on Yasser Arafat’s declining medical condition and even premature reports of his death.
