The Islamic State (IS) claimed casualties among Christians in an attack in Bosaso in Somalia's Bari region, and killing four policemen in Afgoye by gunshot. The group's "Somalia Province" distributed two communiques on January 24-25, 2019, for the incidents. According to the first message, IS fighters killed and wounded four Christians in Bosaso on January 23 via unspecified means. A press report indicated that at least one Ethiopian migrant was killed and two others were injured in a gun attack that day.
