The Islamic State (IS)-linked ‘Amaq News Agency reported that the attack in San Bernardino, California, was carried out by IS supporters and came shortly after U.S. officials claimed that the country is “far away” from terrorist attacks.

In a report posted on its blog on December 4, 2015, ‘Amaq noted that the attackers, a married couple of Pakistani origin, killed 14 people and wounded 17 others and then engaged in an exchange of gunfire with police. It added: “This operation comes after the blood Paris attacks, which were carried out by fighters from the State on the 13th of this past November, which caused the killing of dozens, and after a martyrdom-seeking operation on presidential security in the center of the Tunisian capital”.
